Technical information
SOTRO Polyester Repair Set PRM90 - fast drying polyester resin + fiberglass mat.
Available types::
T019011 - 250 g resin + mat (300g / m²-0.25m)
Characteristics: Thixotropic, easy application. It contains additives that reduce styrene emissions during and after application, and an additive that makes the cured laminate non-sticky after drying, especially important when abrading. Excellent adhesion to steel surfaces. For car body repair, ship construction and repair, elements of garden architecture, etc.
Application:the surface to be repaired must be thoroughly cleaned of any remaining paint with P40-P80 abrasives and degreased with SOTRO Silicone Remover. Mix the resin and hardener thoroughly in a ratio of 100 g resin + 2-3 g hardener. Brush the mixture onto the item to be repaired, then apply a cut-to-size fiberglass or fiberglass mat to cover about 5 cm of the intact area. Moisten the mat with the mixture until it is completely oversaturated, and remove air bubbles by pressing the mat into the resin with a stiff brush. Gel time: 10 minutes at 20 ° C. When the temperature of the laminate (Resin + mat) approaches ambient temperature, the surface can be smoothed and matted with P80-P120, and any unevenness can be filled with filler and finishing filler. When repairing with polyester resin, ensure the correct ratio of resin to fiberglass in each layer. For 1 kg of glass mat, 1.5 kg of resin should be used. The interval between the conclusion of the next layer cannot exceed 48 hours. Otherwise, the surface of the laminate must be sanded as the laminate may catch fire.
Attention! The mixture should be used within 5-10 minutes at 20 ° C. Higher temperatures can shorten the gel time. Store in unopened containers in a dry and well-ventilated area
